Waterjet Operator

Security Engineered Machinery Co., Inc. (SEM), located in Westborough, MA, is seeking a full-time, reliable and independent waterjet operator to join our collaborative manufacturing team who will run our THREE-AXIS Omax Waterjet. This position will assist our metal fabrication capabilities to support the production of high security data destruction devices created for commercial and government clients handling sensitive materials. The ideal candidate will have a dependable work-ethic and have opportunities to grow into other roles within the company including welding, milling and press brake operation.

Job Type: Full-time, Monday – Thursday, 6am – 4:30pm

Overtime: As required to meet deadlines

Major Responsibilities:   

  • Operate CNC waterjet and other machine tools
  • Process and program parts for waterjet manufacturing
  • Perform preventive maintenance and light repairs on the waterjet
  • Complete value-added processes such as drilling, tapping, post-machining, deburring and polishing
  • Manage stock inventory
  • Operate sit down forklift
  • Safely move and handle large, heavy metal sheet, plate and parts using proper equipment

Education and Experience:

  • High School or Equivalent (Required)
  • CNC waterjet operator: 1+ years
  • Metal fabrication: 2+ years (Preferred)
  • Ability to conduct post-waterjet operations (deburring, polishing, etc.)
  • Experience with CNC press brake a strong plus
