Most suppliers of paper shredders offer two levels of security, strip-cut paper shredders and cross-cut paper shredders. SEM offers three. And unlike other companies that offer one or two models of each, SEM offers a complete line of over 20 models to satisfy any requirement.

Understanding Security Levels for Paper Shredder Waste Particles

Strip-Cut - GOOD

This destruction method is ideal for general security requirements. Strip-Cut paper shredders generally feature higher sheet capacities and faster feed rates.

Cross-Cut  - BETTER

Cross-Cut paper shredders offer significantly greater securty than strip-cut models. They also offer much greater volume reduction of waste so bins require less frequent emptying.

Maximum Security-Cut - BEST

Required for the destruction of Classified or Top Secret documents. All SEM Maximum Security Shredders meet NSA/CSS 02-01 particle size requirements. While this level of security is typically reserved for documents relating to National Security, more and more business are taking a "better safe than sorry" approach and opting for these machines
