Mobile Mag EraSURE™![]() PORTABLE DEGAUSSER USES POWERFUL MAGNETS TO ERASE HARD DRIVES
The Mobile Mag EraSURE™ degausser from Security Engineered Machinery (SEM) completely removes data from computer hard drives, including laptop and notebook drives. Faster and more reliable than competing devices or software, this portable unit produces a magnetic force (flux density) ranging from 5,000 to 13,000 Gauss to degauss virtually any hard drive with a nominal coercivity of up to 4200 Oe.
With no need for a power supply, the lightweight Mobile Mag EraSURE is ideal for field operations. Its array of permanent, high-energy, rare-earth (NdFeB) magnets fully erases data and timing (servo) information, rendering the erased medium unusable and ready for secure disposal by financial, legal, military, medical, and other institutions. A hand crank moves a hard drive in and out of the unit for complete erasure in less than 60 seconds. There is no heat buildup.
The Mobile Mag EraSURE accommodates 1.8”, 2.5”, and 3.5” (1” high) HDDs; DLT tapes; DAT tapes; and floppy disks. With dimensions of approximately 24” x 10⅝” x 7˝”, the unit weighs 44 lbs., comes with a carrying case, and can be ordered with a deployment kit.
SEM is the largest direct supplier of information security equipment in the United States.
